Catholic Schools Day 2010

St. Thomas Regional School celebrated Catholic Schools Day at the State House on Thursday, March 11, 2010. The event was part of the ongoing effort to build relationships between state government and to raise awareness of the contributions of Catholic Schools. The event included a speaking program with Bishop Tobin and Governor Carcieri. The event was a true testimony to Catholic Schools across the state of Rhode Island.

School-Based Clinic for Second Dose of H1N1 Flu Vaccine

Our school’s clinic for the second dose of H1N1 flu vaccine will be held on Wednesday, January 27th, at St. Pius V School located at 49 Elmhurst Ave, Providence, RI. The clinic will be held from 4-6 p.m. Students must arrive no later than 5:30. Children who were younger than 10 years of age at the time of our H1N1 flu vaccination clinic in the fall will be vaccinated at this clinic. St. Thomas students who received their first doses from pediatricians can also get their second doses at this clinic. In addition, students who are younger than 10 years of age and who did not receive their first dose of H1N1 flu vaccine can receive their first dose at the clinic. Students will not be vaccinated without a parent present. Parking is available in two lots, one on either side of Elmhurst Ave. Students can enter through the main entrance (there are large front steps leading to the door). Registration tables will be set up right inside the entrance, and St. Thomas students will be vaccinated in the gym. Staff members from St. Thomas School will be present to register and guide the students through the clinic. If your child received his or her first dose of H1N1 flu vaccine at our first clinic, you do not have to sign an additional consent form. If your child did not attend our clinic in the fall, you will need to sign, date, and return the H1N1 flu vaccination consent form to school as soon as possible. You can download consent forms from the website of the Dept. of Health (www.health.ri.gov). Please remember that only St. Thomas School students can be vaccinated at this clinic. This will be the only school clinic available for your child. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the school.
